Ro Holmes

“I am forever enamoured with the folds and curves of queer bodies. Whether they are sitting, moving, dreaming… there is something so honest about them, unapologetically taking up space. It’s like the layers within a cake; I want to admire it and then consume it wholeheartedly. I think that’s why I love stretching the composition across the whole page, to send the message that we are allowed to eat the dessert whole. As a trans person myself, I want to encourage our community to cherish our desires and fall in love with ourselves”.

​Ro is a multidisciplinary illustrator with six years of freelance and clientele work under their belt. Featuring minimalistic linework, they experiment with body shapes, pops of colour and texture to create imperfect compositions. Many of their pieces have been used for multiple purposes, such as for zine publications, album covers, temporary work for big brand pop-up events and tattoos. They withhold two artistic degrees, two blood borne pathogen certifications, six certificates within tattoo history,  and various teaching certificates.
